For over 30 years I have raised a variety of small animals, including chickens rabbits and pigs on my 1 acre lot. I have had no trouble with bears or other wild predators. I do not use electric fencing, however my well-fenced yard contains dogs, man's best friend and very effective wildlife deterrents. As a promoter of safe food for humans I find your opinion uninformed.

Hi Gerald,

I would like to see decent funding for small farmers to access. The cost of fencing OUT bears is prohibitive for most small/hobby, even so called 'real' farmers. This should not be solely the responsibility of the few in order to 'protect' the masses.

Classic. The powers that be like to toss around politically correct words such as 'green, environmental, sustainable, etc' and of course the latest 'Food Security' and so on. But when it comes to putting their bylaws where their media release and propaganda is, suddenly a vast chasm opens.

Good to see some hens are undeterred!
